Do you ever get bored with your knitting?
That’s where I’ve been for the past few months. I have a couple of long-running projects that aren’t sparking my interest or joy at the moment. I also have yarn that I’m itching to use, but I can’t settle on a new project worth spending that kind of time on. The indecision and disinterest has been killing me.
So I decided I needed to try something new. A small, quick-win project (hats are my favorite for that) using a stitch pattern I’ve never tried before. New, interesting, quick. Exactly what I needed.
And—bonus points—this stitch pattern is surprisingly easy! I was expecting the trellis stitch to be way more complicated than it actually is.
The only downside to this project? It’s so quick that now I have to decide what to make next.
(A note about the photos—I cannot ever seem to get the color of yarn in the photos to match the actual color of the yarn. The in-progress pic and the one of me wearing the finished hat are probably the closest to the actual color.)
Another note—this hat is stretchy, so I consider it one-size-fits-all for adults. But. If you are making it for someone with a larger head or who likes their hats slouchier, double the brim rounds (10 instead of 5).
