Twist and Shout Scarf

Anyone else a fan of matching sets? I’ve never actually owned any, but I have this unrequited dream. So when I made the Twist and Shout Hat, I figured there also should be a Twist and Shout Scarf. Because, matching.

The measurements for this scarf are pretty fluid, especially in regards to length, because you can make it as long or short as you want. The width, too, has options. I made the smaller size, which is about 5.25” (13 cm) across, but I also give instructions for a wider size, which is about 7.5” (19 cm) across. If you want it even wider, simply add 16 to the number of cast on stitches. It’s up to you.

Because the size is up to you, I can’t give a definite number of skeins or yards you’ll need for this project. If you’re making the smaller size, you might be able to make it with one skein. If you’re making it longer or wider, you may want two or three. I always prefer to side with more and have some yarn left over for my stash and other projects rather than to run out midway.

Another note: if you’re making both the Twist and Shout Hat and Scarf, you may notice that the cables are at slightly different intervals. This was a mathematical necessity, due to hat length and circular vs. flat knitting. Please don’t be alarmed or dismayed—the difference is on purpose, and both are equally fun to knit.

Again, you can find the matching hat here. Enjoy the pattern!
